Some random thoughts.

I first met Darlene when we met behind P.F. Chang's to transfer custody of Joey and Holly a mother, son pair of Dachshunds. She drove up in her Red Charger with her daughter Melonie. A red Charger, how appropriate for her. That she was with her reddish hair, a charger for all dogs but especially the Dachshunds. As the new Foster Director I found she was the most helpful, kind and caring of the foster parents I had dealt with. That didn't change over the years not only was she a great Foster Parent but a great advocate for animals in general. We would became good friends and attended many adoption events together. She was exciting to be around and always up lifted the spirits of all those she came in contact with. I'm proud and happy to have known her and be a friend. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and working with her. All my best to her husband and family in this time of sorrow. Bob Fullmer, LVHDDCR Foster Director
