I first met Darlene when we met behind P.F. Chang's to transfer custody of Joey and Holly a mother, son pair of Dachshunds. She drove up in her Red Charger with her daughter Melonie. A red Charger, how appropriate for her. That she was with her reddish hair, a charger for all dogs but especially the Dachshunds. As the new Foster Director I found she was the most helpful, kind and caring of the foster parents I had dealt with. That didn't change over the years not only was she a great Foster Parent but a great advocate for animals in general. We would became good friends and attended many adoption events together. She was exciting to be around and always up lifted the spirits of all those she came in contact with. I'm proud and happy to have known her and be a friend.
